Grey seals at Godrevy

Pastel   38 x 56 cm   £200 unframed

Godrevy is a major haul out spot for grey seals in Cornwall. It is a great place for people to go and see them without causing disturbance, but they are not particularly well placed for drawing. This picture started life outdoors as a watercolour and was then developed further in the studio as a pastel. I find the watercolour underpainting helps give some unity. I was attracted particularly by the two young seals frolicking in the foreground. One of my more abstracted efforts.
